Formerly Ebonyi Laureates. A community of Ebonyians bridging the human capital gap in Ebonyi.
This organisation was created as a platform for networking between Ebonyians. Our state has come a long way since its creation but it is no news that there is room for improvement. The state still grapples with poverty, unemployment, child labour, communal clashes and other vices. Created in 1996, the 27-year-old state, still lags behind the neighbouring south-eastern states, and other states in Nigeria.
The last NBC statistics listed Ebonyi as the 4th poorest state in Nigeria with over 70% of its people grappling with poverty. Poverty as we all know is a vicious cycle, the poor can't fund their education , business ideas, nutrition or even health. All these leads to poverty being perpetuated and passed down to generations. We cannot wish our current economic reality away. The only way out is making deliberate efforts to turn around the fate of our people. As a new generation of Ebonyians, it is our responsibility to achieve the “Ebonyi dream” that has eluded us thus far. One of the ways to achieve this is to work as a team, a unit with similar purpose. For this reason, this page has been created to leverage on the power of the social media to connect us together and enable us rub minds and propose with innovative ways to transform our state. This will be a forum for will be for networking, mentoring a sharing opportunities and ideas, planning and executing projects all targeted at advancing Ebonyi state. We hope to formally model the Igbo apprenticeship system and build our state with the spirit of brotherhood/sisterhood. As we join hands to make Ebonyi great.
